Dantewada, Oct 5: Police have reported that 31 bodies of Naxalites have been recovered as part of the joint operation by DRG Dantewada and STF Narayanpur in the Maad region located on the Narayanpur-Dantewada border.
A CRPF DRG reinforcement team was dispatched to the area to support the security personnel already stationed there.
According to police, one DRG Jawan was injured in the operation but is reported to be out of danger.
Officials reported that a large cache of automatic weapons was recovered from the site of the encounter.
IG Bastar P Sundarraj reported that 31 Naxalite bodies have been recovered from the encounter site, with ongoing search operations in the area. Additional CRPF and DRG reinforcement teams have been dispatched. Among the weapons recovered were an LMG rifle, AK-47, SLR, INSAS, and .303 calibre rifles.
