Ranchi, Dec.28: The BJP today hit out at the Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s most prominent political asset i., e., tribal roots, saying when all his tricks fail, he plays the victim card of being a tribal.
Releasing an 18-page chargesheet on the completion of four years of the Hemant Soren government today, BJP state president Babulal Marandi painted Hemant Soren as anti-tribal. He said that Soren failed to fulfil his promises made to youths, women, farmers, STs, backwards and Dalits.
Leader of opposition Amar Bauri, Organisational secretary Karmveer Singh, Arun Oraon and Shivpujan Pathak were also present on the occasion.
‘Government of files, folders and bosses’
Soren has also been accused of making false promises for defining a local based on the 1932 khatiyan (land records) and increasing reservation in jobs for STs/SCs and OBCs.
Also, the saffron party has released a long list of corruption during the last four years to discredit the Soren government.
Marandi said that Jharkhand’s present Hemant Soren government is a government of files, folders and bosses. An attempt has been made to expose the tactics, character and face of this predatory government by placing on the first page of the charge sheet the bundle of notes and the tweet made by the Prime Minister during the recovery of money from the House of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu.
He said that the NDA has ruled for 13 years so far, i.e. it has been in government for 4764 days. The UPA has led the state for ten years, i.e. 3625 days. During this period, the President’s rule has been more frequent in the UPA coalition government.
BJP vs JMM
“Whatever work the BJP has done is not hidden from anyone. What work the JMM has done is not hidden from anyone. The government here continuously alleges that the central government is not helping. It is written in the charge sheet that if nine crore 59 lakh people benefit from the PM Ujjwala scheme in the country, then 35 lakh 27 thousand 135 people in Jharkhand benefit from this scheme. Three crore people benefit from PM Awas across the country, while in Jharkhand, 15 lakh 84 thousand 185 people benefit from this scheme,” he pointed out.
He added that the Jharkhand government cannot deliver the benefits of the central schemes to the people.
Tribals’ exploitation
According to the chargesheet, tribals have never been exploited as they were used under the so-called ‘Abua Sarkar.’
“Tribals have only 1271 forest rights leases during the last four years while over one lakh applications are pending,” it added. The BJP has also listed a considerable number of cases of atrocities against tribals.
“The Hemant government has also failed to improve law and order, plunder of minerals and forest resources and attacks on women,” the chargesheet said.
Love jihad
The BJP has attacked the Hemant government for appeasement, religious conversion and love jihad, too.
It has also listed half a dozen instances of attacks by the Hemant government on constitutional bodies, a charge the INDI alliance levels against the BJP in New Delhi.
The BJP said that Jharkhand has rich resources, but the Hemant government is incompetent in utilizing them meaningfully.
