Daltonganj, November 14: Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) and its constituent and affiliated colleges are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jharkhand’s statehood with great enthusiasm, despite having no budgetary allocation. This silver jubilee celebration has become a major highlight in the region, adding to the ongoing Jharkhand statehood news and Daltonganj updates.
“There is no allocation of funds for this. Nevertheless, the university and its colleges are doing their best to make the 25th year of Jharkhand’s statehood a memorable event,” said Vice Chancellor Dr. Prof. Dinesh Kumar Singh.
Sources said there is a kind of restriction on funds as part of austerity measures. But this embargo on necessary expenses has created difficulties, especially in organising this large programme, where participants will receive only a low-cost pen and a certificate.
VC and officials inspect preparations
On Friday, the Vice Chancellor and his team—Dean Student Welfare Dr. S. K. Pandey, Finance Officer Dr. Bimal Kumar Singh, Proctor Dr. R. K. Jha, Registrar Dr. Nafis Ahmad, and CCDC Dr. Manorama Singh—inspected the rangoli site. They found the enthusiasm of the girls warm, energetic, and overflowing.

Across NPU colleges, several events are being held, including debate, painting, essay writing, and quiz competitions. Students are participating in large numbers, contributing to the vibrant NPU silver jubilee activities and statehood celebrations across regions close to Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar borders.
Students have also displayed posters highlighting the challenges and
prospects of Jharkhand, adding depth to the Jharkhand statehood celebration.
Queries on Run for Jharkhand and missing colleges
When asked why the university did not participate in the “Run for Jharkhand,” the Vice Chancellor said, “The district administration did not give us any information about this run. If we had been informed in advance, our participation would have made a big difference.”
When questioned about the absence of the law college and medical college from the 25th statehood programmes, Dean Student Welfare Dr. S. K. Pandey said, “We have a WhatsApp group that had all the necessary information about the programmes to be held in the respective colleges.” He admitted the medical college got left out. The Vice Chancellor then directed him to expand the WhatsApp group and include him as well.
70,000 degrees to reach students’ colleges
On the 25th year of Jharkhand’s statehood, the Vice Chancellor announced that 70,000 degrees will now be available in the respective colleges of the students. This will save them from the inconvenience of travelling to the university. He described this as a special gift to all pass-outs as part of the silver jubilee celebration.
