Ranchi, Dec.24: Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, accompanied by Congress State President Rajesh Thakur and Jharkhand State Agricultural Marketing Board Chairman Ravindra Kumar Singh, today inaugurated a medical camp organised by Maa Lalita POLYDC at Sharma Road in Dhurwa.

Those who gave their services in the camp included Cardiologist Dr Vineet Kumar Mishra from Medanta, Irba, Ranchi, Urologist Dr Kunal, RIMS Orthopaedic specialist Dr Vinay Prabhat, Ophthalmologist (AIIMS, New Delhi), Dr Kumari Reena, Gynaecologist Dr Pritilata, Diabetologist Dr Kumar Ashutosh, General Physician Dr Ravindra Singh, and Laparoscopic Surgeon Dr Ajit Kumar.

Free blood sugar, ECG

In this camp, free blood sugar, ECG and other tests were done for the patients. The guests also got their blood pressure and sugar checked along with common patients. 520 patients took advantage of this medical camp. The operation of two patients was also done immediately by Dr Ajit Kumar in Minor OT, free of cost.

Dr. Vineet told the patients that tobacco consumption is one of the main causes of heart attack. He described high blood pressure as a silent killer.

BP a silent killer

He said the upper blood pressure limit for diabetes patients should be 130 mm of Hg.

In the camp, six surgery patients were selected by Dr. Ajit for free operation. After seeing the ECG, ten patients were advised of ECHO and angiography.

The visiting guests and people of Dhurva described the organisation of this medical camp in memory of Dr. Ajit Kumar’s mother as beneficial.

People said that with this, elderly people and those patients who cannot go to big hospitals can also get their treatment from good doctors. Such events will also create health awareness among people.

After the successful organisation of the camp, Dr Ajit and his associate doctors have decided to keep organising such free medical camps from time to time in the interest of the patients.
