New Delhi, Nov 16: The Narcotics Control Bureau seized 82.53 kg of high-quality cocaine in Delhi and apprehended four individuals involved in the case.

Deputy Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Neeraj Kumar Gupta, stated that this seizure was the outcome of a coordinated effort by the NCB team, based on leads obtained from earlier seizures in March and August this year.

Following an investigation based on leads from these cases, along with technical and human intelligence, the NCB was able to trace the source of the contraband after receiving a tip on November 11. As a result, 82.53 kg of high-grade cocaine was seized from the Janakpuri and Nangloi areas of Delhi on November 14.

The initial recovery in this case was made at a courier shop in Delhi, where a parcel destined for Australia was intercepted. Despite efforts to conceal the full supply, the NCB successfully traced the bulk quantity of the contraband, which was hidden in the Janakpuri and Nangloi areas of Delhi.

Gupta stated that the per kilogram market price of cocaine is estimated to be between Rs 11-14 crore.
