Dhanbad, Feb 29: The job of contractual employees of the National Health Mission (NHM) will be regularized.
Assistant Director, NHM-II, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Chitwan, has in this regard informed the All India Health NHM Employees Federation saying that demand (regularization of job) has been noted and the matter is under consideration of the ministry.
“I am directed to refer to your grievances received through the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System regarding the chapter of demands for job regularization, social security and equal pay. Your suggestions have been duly noted and is under consideration,” the letter of assistant secretary said.
Over 17,000 contractual employees working in Jharkhand would benefit from this consideration.

NHM employees have been working on a contractual basis since 2004 in Jharkhand as well as across the country. Jharkhand State NHM Contractual Employees Association Coordinator Anup Kumar along with the Federation and associations of other states has been demanding social security, same work same pay and regularization of jobs for more than two decades.
NHM employees to get 15% of 7th pay scale in 2 weeks
Over 17000 NHM employees of the state will get a 15% hike in their honorarium against the 7th pay scale soon.
Chief Minister Champai Soren assured the NHM employees’ body on Wednesday to implement the order in two weeks. Health Minister Banna Gupta also assured the NHM employees delegation to start paying 15% after March 2.
Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto during the assembly session lined up a meeting of the NHM employees’ body under Anup Kumar with health minister Banna Gupta. Sabitri Soy, Hiloriya Aind, Gopal Kumar, Ketan Kumar Dubey were members of the delegation.
The Health Department on March 8, 2023, issued a notification of enhancing 15% honorarium to NHM employees against the 7th pay scale. But on verbal order of a senior officer, a ban was put on it. Since then employees have been agitating for the implementation of the 15% hike order.
