Chennai, March 20: After resigning from her position as governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundarajan has joined the BJP again in Tamil Nadu.
Notably, on March 18, Tamilisai Soundararajan submitted her resignation from her positions as Telangana Governor and Puducherry Lieutenant Governor.
President Droupadi Murmu officially accepted Soundararajan’s resignation yesterday.
At the Tamil Nadu BJP headquarters ‘Kamalalayam’ in Chennai, K Annamalai, the party’s president, presented Soundarajan with her membership card.

While addressing a press conference, Tamilisai Soundarajan mentioned that despite it being a difficult decision to resign from her position, she was happy in returning to serve the party.
“Vanathi Srinivasan used to sit here. she is an example of a successful women in politics. It’s the happiest day. It’s a tough decision. There were many facilities for me as governor. I don’t regret even one per cent to leave the governor post. I have seen many challenges in Telengana. Seen four Chief Ministers in my governor’s time,” she stated.
“Lotus will blossom in Tamil Nadu for sure,” she added.
In 2019, Soundararajan left the Bharatiya Janata Party to become the Governor of Telangana. In 2021, she was named Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
Tamilisai Soundararjan, a gynaecologist, is 62 years old and joined the BJP more than 20 years ago.
