New Delhi, May 1: Following the resignation of Delhi Pradesh Congress Chief Arvinder Singh Lovely, the Delhi unit of the Congress faced another setback on Wednesday as two former MLAs, Neeraj Basoya and Nasseb Singh, stepped down from the party’s primary membership.
Nasseb Singh disappointed with appointment of Davinder Yadav as DPCC chief
In a letter to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Nasseb Singh expressed dissatisfaction with the appointment of Davinder Yadav as DPCC Chief. Singh highlighted Yadav’s previous campaign in Punjab criticizing Arvind Kejriwal, juxtaposing it with the expectation for Yadav to now support AAP and Kejriwal in Delhi. Feeling deeply hurt and disrespected by recent party developments, Singh announced his resignation from the party.
“Today, you have appointed Davinder Yadav as DPCC Chief. He as AICC (In-Charge Punjab) has run a campaign in Punjab solely based on attacking Arvind Keiriwal’s false agenda and today, in Delhi he will be mandated to praise and support AAP and its Chief Arvind Kejriwal. Being deeply pained and humiliated at the recent developments in the Party, I resign from the party,” Nasseb Singh stated in his letter.

Basoya cites AAP’s involvement in scandals
In a letter addressed to Congress President Kharge, Neeraj Basoya expressed deep discomfort with the ongoing alliance with AAP, citing their involvement in several scandals over the past seven years. Basoya highlighted the incarceration of AAP’s top leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendra Jain, and Manish Sisodia, and accused AAP of serious corruption allegations related to scandals such as the Delhi Liquor Scam and Delhi Jal Board Scam.
He stated that by forming an alliance with AAP despite the aforementioned concerns, it seems that the Congress Party is trying to absolve AAP of wrongdoing and endorse their deceptive propaganda about development. Basoya declared his decision to no longer be associated with any such endeavour.
“I hereby tender my resignation from all Party Posts and the primary membership of the Party. I thank Smt Sonia Gandhi Ji for giving a common man like me, all the opportumt1es in the last 30 years,” Basoya stated in his resignation letter.
On April 28, Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh Lovely stepped down from his position.
