New Delhi, May 13: The Election Commission of India (ECI) reports that as of 5 p.m. on Monday, the 96 constituencies participating in the fourth round of the Lok Sabha elections had reported a voter turnout of approximately 62.31 per cent.

As of 5 p.m. today, West Bengal had the highest voter turnout of 75.66 per cent, followed by Andhra Pradesh (68.04 per cent) and Madhya Pradesh (68.01 per cent). Jammu and Kashmir had the lowest turnout percentage of 35.75 per cent.

In the context of other states, Andhra Pradesh recorded a voting percentage of 68.04%, Jharkhand witnessed 63.14%, Odisha had 62.96%, Telangana registered 61.16%, Uttar Pradesh noted 56.35%, Bihar saw 54.14% and Maharashtra recorded 52.49% voting.

Jharkhand registers 63.14% voter turnout in four Lok Sabha

Voting concluded in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections in four constituencies of Jharkhand. Until 5 p.m., an average of 63.14% voter turnout was recorded in the four Lok Sabha constituencies of Jharkhand that went for polling on Monday.

The constituencies where voting is taking place include Khunti, Singhbhum, Lohardaga and Palamu. In these four Lok Sabha constituencies, voter turnout stood at 65.82%, 66.11%, 62.60%, and 59.99%, respectively.

The states that voted today

In the fourth phase, voting is taking place on 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, five out of 40 in Bihar, four out of 14 in Jharkhand, eight out of 29 in Madhya Pradesh, 11 out of 48 in Maharashtra, four out of 21 in Odisha, all 17 seats in Telangana, 13 out of 80 in Uttar Pradesh, and eight out of 42 in West Bengal. Additionally, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir is also going to polls.

19 lakh polling personnel deployed in 1.92 lakh polling stations

A total of 192,000 polling centres had been set up for voting on these 96 seats. These polling centres were staffed with 19 lakh polling personnel. For monitoring the elections, there were 364 observers and 4,661 flying squads. Additionally, there were 4,438 static surveillance teams. In these Lok Sabha election areas, there are 1,016 interstate border check posts and 121 international border check posts.
