Ranchi, May 28: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today interrogated IAS officer Manish Ranjan making him sit face-to-face with Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam in the tender scam.
The interrogation, which began at 11 am, continued till the report was filed at 7.45 pm.
The ED summoned Ranjan, who held the post of secretary in the rural development department for a considerable period after it found that Manish Ranjan was privy to the relevant information about Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam in the Rs 3000 crore tender scam. The ED is also scanning the role of several other senior officers and will summon them soon.

It has been revealed that accounts of alleged commission embezzlement were kept in an Excel sheet, in which Manish Ranjan’s name was also there with the code word ‘M’.
Influential persons linked to minister
The ED said, during the investigation, the role of various influential persons linked to Alamgir Alam was also found. “They were key decision-makers and beneficiaries or may have assisted for the generation and distribution of the proceeds of crime that had flown to Alamgir Alam through the said nexus of the Department,” it pointed out.
Notably, the confession by Minister Alamgir Alam, his OSD Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir, during the interrogation in the money laundering related to the tender scam, has led the ED to summon Manish Ranjan.
The ED has till now arrested department minister Alamgir Alam, Sanjeev Lal, Jahangir Alam, Chief Engineer VK Ram, CA Mukesh Mittal and others.
