New Delhi, Nov 10: Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, was granted permission by the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday to meet his ailing wife on Saturday.

He requested permission to visit his unwell wife for a duration of five days.

Special judge M K Nagpal granted permission to Sisodia to visit his unwell wife at his residence from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. while being under police custody.

Sisodia submitted a request seeking approval to visit his ailing wife for a duration of five days while being in custody.

Both the CBI and ED objected to the request, arguing that the accused’s application lacks clarity on the legal provisions under which permission is sought. They suggested that an interim bail application should have been filed instead.

Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is facing charges in both a CBI case and a money laundering case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Sisodia on February 26 in connection with his alleged involvement in the Delhi excise policy case Since then, he has been in custody.

Following his questioning in Tihar Jail on March 9, the ED arrested Sisodia in connection with the money laundering case arising from the CBI FIR.

Earlier on October 30, the Supreme Court dismissed Sisodia’s bail plea concerning cases involving purported irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy case. His previous bail petitions were turned down by both the High Court and the trial court.
