New Delhi, June 4: As the Lok Sabha election count moves on, the Election Commission of India reports that preliminary trends indicate that the Congress is leading on 61 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 152 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party is ahead on three seats, according to the EC.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party is ahead in 27 seats, Telugu Desam in 10 seats, Janata Dal (Secular) in 2 seats, Janata Dal (United) in 1 seat, Shiv Sena (SHS) in 3 seats, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) – CPI(M) in 4 seats. Additionally, Independents are leading in 7 seats, and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party – YSRCP is ahead in 2 seats.

Naga People’s Front is ahead in 1 seat, Voice of the People Party in 1 seat, Zoram People’s Movement in 1 seat, Shiromani Akali Dal in 1 seat, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) in 1 seat, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha in 1 seat, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) – LJPRV in 1 seat, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference in 1 seat, and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in 2 seats.

Approximately 642 million people cast their votes in the Lok Sabha elections, which took place over seven phases in a vast six-week period. The vote counting began with the postal ballots under stringent security measures.
