Jamshedpur, June 12: Severe Heat wave conditions and high discomfort index would prevail over most parts of Jharkhand today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Severe heat wave with discomfort index beyond normal limits would prevail at isolated places of north-western and south-eastern parts of the state today.

Alerts of severe heat wave conditions was also issued for isolated places of north-western and south-eastern parts of the state tomorrow, June 13, June 14 and June 15.

Tomorrow there is also a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over north-eastern, central and southern parts of the state.
Met statistics revealed that the maximum temperature has crossed 40 degrees Celsius in all 24 districts of Jharkhand on Tuesday.
Monsoon Update
Southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of North Arabian Sea, Maharashtra and Telangana.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon passes through Navsari, Jalgaon, Akola, Pusad, Ramagundam, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram and Islampur.
Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of Telangana and Chhattisgarh during the next 48 hours.
Synoptic Features
The east-west trough runs from cyclonic circulation over eastern Uttar Pradesh to Nagaland across Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and south Assam at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
A trough in lower tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 1.5 km above mean sea level runs roughly along Long. 86°E to the north of Lat. 22°N.
