New Delhi, June 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were among the notable leaders who took an oath of office as Members of Parliament on Monday as the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha got underway.
Among others, Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy, Chirag Paswan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Nitin Gadkari and Mansukh Mandaviya took oaths as members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
BJP MP Piyush Goyal, Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Bhupender Yadav, Giriraj Singh, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and JD(U) MP Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, were also among those who took oaths as members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Manohar Lal Khattar, HD Kumaraswamy, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan Singh), Sarbananda Sonowal, Ram Mohan Naidu, Prahlad Joshi, Giriraj Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Annapurna Devi, CR Patil, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP leaders Radha Mohan Singh and Faggan Singh Kulaste also took oath.

Before the start of the Lok Sabha session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation. He said that the 18th Lok Sabha will work with new resolutions. This is an opportunity to achieve new zeal and new momentum. The world’s largest election has been completed in a very magnificent and prestigious manner. This is a matter of pride for 140 crore Indians.
The Prime Minister further stated that if the citizens of the country have trusted a government for the third consecutive time, it signifies their endorsement of the government’s policies and intentions.
He expressed gratitude for the support and trust of all. He emphasized that while a majority is essential to govern, consensus among the public is crucial to lead the nation.
