New Delhi, August 8: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an Assistant Director from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday in New Delhi for accepting bribes amounting to Rs 20 lakh.
The arrested ED official, Sandeep Singh Yadav, was found to be accepting a bribe from a jeweler in return for offering leniency to the jeweler’s son in an ED case.
According to a senior CBI official, the ED official was apprehended in the Lajpat Nagar area of Delhi.

The CBI received a complaint and, acting on it, set up a trap in which the ED official was caught in the act of accepting the bribe.
Officials stated that the CBI is in the process of filing an FIR in the case.
