Ranchi, Aug. 28: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that his government is now providing 200 units of electricity free of cost to electricity consumers every month. He said that the outstanding dues of old electricity bills of poor people will also be waived so that there is no burden on them and they can get the benefit of 200 units of free electricity.

Addressing a programme, organised to transfer honorarium to women in Kolhan division under the “Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana” at Rapcha Football Ground, Gamharia, in Seraikela-Kharsawan, Soren said his government has waived the loan of up to Rs 2 lakh of the farmers of the state.

“Under the Chief Minister Employment Creation Scheme, young men and women are being linked to various jobs. The honorarium of male and female workers working in many fields including Anganwadi Sevika-Sahayika has also been increased,” he added.

6 lakh women in Kolhan get honorarium cover

He said that more than 6 lakh mothers and sisters of the Kolhan division have been linked to the “Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana”.

The chief minister said that within the last 15 to 20 days, we have moved forward with the target of covering about 48 lakh women in the state with the benefits of this scheme.

“In the coming days, a girl who turns 21 years of age will automatically be added to this scheme,” he assured.

Development of tribals, natives

Hemant Soren said that the ‘Moolwasis’  and tribal people here have worked with hope and aspiration to form a strong government.

He said that today the people of our tribal society are also gradually moving forward on the path of progress. “Earlier, very few people from the tribal society were seen in big positions like judge, lawyer, engineer, IAS, IPS, etc., but now the circumstances have changed, now the young men and women of our tribal society are also occupying these posts,” he pointed out.

CM on jobs

Soren said that his government has made a law to ensure that 75% of the appointments in the industrial institutions established in the state are of local people.

“It has also been made clear that companies will not be allowed to work if local people are not given importance in the appointments,” he pointed out.
