Dhanbad, Sept 7: Civil Judge Senior Division Dhanbad Rakesh Roshan said that helping road accident victims is the responsibility of the society and it is the duty of all to perform it in time.
Rakesh Roshan, who was inaugurating the ‘District level Workshop on MACT’ (Motor Vehicle Act) organized by the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) in the civil court today, said that sometimes a family of road accident victim fails to get compensation as paper of accident is not submitted in time.
Police to file accident papers within 30 days
“The Supreme Court has already ordered to submit the accident paper within 30 days. If the same is not done action can be taken against the concerned police officer,” said civil judge Rakesh Roshan. He further added that if the police do it in time, family members of the victim will get massive relief.

The DLSA had organized a workshop on the directive of Principal District and Session Judge cum DLSA chairman Ram Sharma.
Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) emergency in-charge Prof (Dr) Dinesh Kumar Gindauria, advocate Viplab Das, traffic police station officer-in-charge Khursheed Alam, District Road Safety manager Sunil Kumar also addressed the workshop.
Claim must be filed within six months
Advocate Viplab Das said an accident claim must be filed in a tribunal within six months otherwise victim’s family will have to face legal problems.
Prof (Dr) Dinesh Kumar Gindauria while placing alarming figures on road accident casualties, said that there are four major reasons for road accidents. These included driving without a helmet, driving in a drunken state, rash driving, and speedy and careless driving.
“ I a road accident victim is admitted at a hospital within one hour of incident his life can be saved”, he said.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Awadhesh Kumar, additional PP Dr Rajiv Kumar, LSDCS chief Kumar Bimlendu, deputy chief Ajay Kumar Bhatt, assistant Kanhaiya Lal Thakur, Swati Kumari, Muskan Chopra, Shailendra Jha, Suman Pathak and other were also attended.
