Ranchi, Sept 26: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today transferred Rs 400.60 crore through DBT to waive loans to 1,76,977 farmers under the agricultural loan waiver scheme up to Rs 2 lakh.
On the occasion, the chief minister also launched a scheme to increase the incentive amount of Rs 2 per litre for milk production to Rs 5 per litre for milk producers of Jharkhand.
Soren also launched a scheme to do crop insurance at Re 1 to benefit 16 lakh farmers.
Finance Minister Dr Rameshwar Oraon, Agriculture Minister Deepika Singh Pandey, Labor and Employment Minister Satyanand Bhokta, and Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Manjhi were present among others.
Addressing the programme organised at Prabhat Tara Maidan, the CM said that this programme is not a Kisan Loan Waiver but a Kisan Samman Yojana.
Taking a dig at the BJP, he said that these people were going to sell the farmers to the capitalists, but the farmers got the three agricultural laws withdrawn by agitating for 1 year. “They do not have money to give MSP, but they have money to waive the loans of capitalists,” he said.

But I am not going to be afraid, I will fight every battle against them,” he asserted.
