Dhanbad, Oct 1: Ten athletes from Dhanbad have been selected to represent Jharkhand in the upcoming East Zone Athletics Championship, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar from October 7 to 9.
The announcement was made by the General Secretary of the Dhanbad District Athletics Association, Bandhan Toppo, who stated that the athletes were selected based on their impressive performances at the recently concluded state championships.

Selected athletes
Boys: Achut Parpan (Hammer Throw), Rituraj (Discus Throw), Motilal Mahto (5,000m and 10,000m Race), Anshu Kumar (10km Walk), Sandeep Ghosh (10km Walk)
Girls: Chandni Kumari (Triathlon A), Doly Kumari (Triathlon C), Sharda Hansda (Hammer Throw), Rajkumari (Javelin), Rubi Kumari (5,000m Race and 4x400m Relay)
District association officials, including President Kiran Rani Nayak, Treasurer Zubai Alam, and other prominent members such as Tarak Nath Das, Sunil Mishra, Abhijit Patra, Balram Singh, Sujesh Thakur, Pradip, Jayram Bhagat, AK Tiwari, Md Sarfaraj Khan, Md Farid, Abhishek Kumar, Rana Pratap Singh, Sujapa Thakur, Aniket Dubey, and Jolly Sarkar, extended their congratulations to the selected athletes.
