NIA to probe J&K’s Ganderbal terror attack which killed doctor, six workers

Srinagar, Oct 21: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate the Ganderbal terrorist attack. A team, led by senior officials from the agency, departed for the site on Monday.

Intelligence agencies believe that the killing of innocent, unarmed civilians is a result of the terrorists’ desperation. They noted that peaceful elections recently took place in Jammu and Kashmir, with significant public participation. In this context, the terrorists are in a state of panic.

Following the incident, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the terrorists.

Doctor, six workers killed in terrorist attack on Sunday night

It is noteworthy that terrorists attacked a labour camp in the Gagangir area of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday at 8:15 PM. The attack resulted in the deaths of six workers and a doctor. The deceased comprised both local and external individuals who were working on a tunnel project between Gagangir and Sonmarg.

The victims have been identified as Fahim Nasir (Security Manager, Bihar), Angil Shukla (Mechanical Manager, Madhya Pradesh), Mohammad Hanif (Bihar), Dr. Shahnawaz (Budgam, Kashmir), Kaleem (Bihar), Shashi Abrol (Designer, Jammu), and Gurmeet Singh (Rigger, Gurdaspur, Punjab).

Meanwhile, five injured individuals are receiving treatment at the Super Specialty SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar.
