Dhanbad, Oct 22: The under-14 girls’ team from Dhanbad Public School (DPS) has clinched the runners-up trophy at the All-India CBSE National Yoga Championship, which concluded yesterday at the Global School in Sangamner, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
Reports said that while the under-14 girls’ team secured the runners-up position, the school’s under-19 girls’ team achieved third place in their category.
The trophy was presented to the winning and runners-up teams by Sanjay Malpani, Director of Global School, who also serves as the President of the Asia Yoga Association and Vice-President of the Indian Yoga Association.

Each zone qualifies one school team for the All India zonal meeting. Since 2019, Dhanbad Public School has been the sole representative from the East Zone at the national championship. In 2024, the school won the zonal championship and subsequently participated in the national event.
The members of the runners-up under-14 team included Rani Pandit, Ishika Chhetri, Ananya Agrawal, Anuska Kumari, and Andrija Paul. The under-19 team comprised Dipika, Satakshi, Shristhi, and Titli Koley.
Secretary Anil Agrawal, Principal Sharda Mahajan, Vice-Principal Souvik Chatterji, and Suparna Ghosh extended their congratulations to the players, team coach Shashikant Pandey, Pinki Singh, and Yashwani Rani for their commendable achievements.
The Chairman of the Dhanbad Public School Managing Committee, Kailash Prasad Agrawal, praised the students for their outstanding performance.
