Ranchi, Oct 24: Choosing an auspicious day, several political leaders filed their papers today to fight the forthcoming assembly elections.
They included leader of opposition Amar Bauri, Kalpana Soren, CP Singh, Meera Munda among others.
Kalpana Soren files nomination from Gandey
Kalpana Soren, wife of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and leader of JMM, filed her nomination on Thursday as the party’s candidate for the Gandey Assembly seat.
She filed her nomination paper before Gulam Samdani, the Returning Officer cum District Supply officer, for the Gandey constituency. During this, Rajya Sabha MP Sarfaraz Ahmad was also present.
Kalpana Soren will face a direct contest against BJP’s Munia Devi, who is currently the chairperson of the Giridih District Council.
After filing the nomination, Kalpana Murmu Soren shared a post on her official X handle.

“I filed my nomination papers today as a JMM candidate in the upcoming assembly elections to serve my people of Gandey assembly constituency. The love of the people of Gandey assembly constituency, the blessings of respected Baba Dishom Guruji and mother, and the support of Hemant ji are my courage, my strength, my faith. Gandey will win! Jharkhand will win! Ek hi nara, Hemant dobara,” she posted on X.
Meera Munda files nomination from Potka
Meera Munda, the wife of former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, officially submitted her nomination for the 46-Potka Assembly constituency before the Returning Officer. Accompanied by a large number of senior BJP leaders and supporters, her nomination has generated considerable enthusiasm among party workers.
After filing her nomination, Meera stated that her primary focus would be on the development of Potka, considering it her foremost duty to serve the people. She expressed confidence that voters would support her based on the BJP’s policies and the developmental work carried out by her husband.
C.P. Singh files nomination from Ranchi seat
From the Ranchi assembly constituency, senior BJP leader and six-time MLA C.P. Singh also filed his nomination before the Returning Officer. His nomination was marked by a significant show of support from a large crowd of BJP workers.
Known as one of the most experienced and popular leaders in the region, C.P. Singh is running again on a BJP ticket. Speaking to the media after his nomination, he reiterated his commitment to the development of Ranchi, highlighting the key projects implemented by the BJP government. C.P. Singh expressed confidence that the public would once again place their trust in the party.
