At this crucial juncture of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, both the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are facing a wave of discontent among their young leaders, whose dissatisfaction could adversely impact their electoral prospects.

However, this situation is also a lesson for these young leaders: instead of opting for rebellion, if they align themselves with the party’s principles, they will find countless opportunities and a promising future.

As BJP’s veteran leader Bhupen Sahu, a true symbol of sacrifice, states, “The party is like a mother; we must have reverence for it, not a spirit of dissent.”

Senior BJP leader Raj Paliwar, dissatisfied with not receiving a ticket, has decided to contest as an independent candidate from Madhupur, posing a significant challenge to the BJP’s Ganga Narayan Singh. Similarly, Niranjan Rai is preparing to run as an independent from Rajdhanwar, which could threaten the position of state president Babulal Marandi. In Gumla, Sudarshan Bhagat faces potential risk due to the discontent of Misir Kujur, while in Kanke, Dr Jeetu Charan Ram may see weakened support due to Kamlesh Ram’s opposition. Furthermore, in the Ranchi Assembly, dissent from leaders like Munchoon Rai and Sandeep Verma could create difficulties for the BJP candidate CP Singh.

JMM’s Youth Shake-Up

In the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, discontent has arisen due to the denial of a ticket to Dinesh William Marandi, son of Simon Marandi. Dinesh has chosen to contest as an independent candidate, potentially challenging the JMM’s organizational stability. Several JMM workers and supporters stand with Dinesh, feeling that the party overlooked a promising young leader. This dissatisfaction raises questions about the JMM’s commitment to organizational unity and its approach to prioritizing family over potential leaders for the future.

BJP’s Youth Dilemma

Within the BJP, discontent has deepened among young leaders like Kamlesh Ram, Misir Kujur, Munchoon Rai, and Sandeep Verma. All these leaders are associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and have held important roles within the organization. The BJP hoped that this team of young leaders would strengthen the party, but dissatisfaction over ticket distribution has created unrest.

Opportunities for Kamlesh and Misir

Kamlesh Ram, who currently serves as the vice president of the Scheduled Caste Morcha and previously held the post of state minister, has developed a strong political profile with the potential for future growth within the organization. Misir Kujur, who served as district general secretary in the last term, had similar support from senior leaders, with prospects for significant roles in the state. Their dissatisfaction not only affects their political futures but could also destabilize the organization. The BJP still holds strong potential for both these leaders, and there are ample opportunities if they choose to stay aligned with the party.

Rising Leaders: Munchoon Rai and Sandeep Verma

Munchoon Rai and Sandeep Verma, both dynamic young leaders with a clear sense of organizational loyalty, are seen as strong youth figures within the party. Sandeep Verma, the vice-president of the state Youth Morcha, is widely regarded as a capable young face within the BJP. According to the principles of RSS, individuals are encouraged to rise above personal ambitions and embrace the path of service to the organization and the nation. This is an opportunity for these young leaders to uphold these ideals and secure future prospects within the party by remaining loyal to the organization.

Loyalty Over Rebellion

Sacrifice and dedication are paramount in politics. All parties are fundamentally built on loyalty and the principle of sacrifice. For any leader, rebelling against the top leadership challenges the organization’s discipline and core values of loyalty. Despite the current dissatisfaction, if these young leaders choose to uphold the values of sacrifice and loyalty, their paths to higher positions within the organization remain open.

Building Stronger Foundations

For both the BJP and the JMM, this is a time to reinforce the values of sacrifice, loyalty, and discipline. In this electoral season, commitment to the organization and dedication to these values offer a long-term path to success for leaders. The current discontent threatens to undermine the unity and discipline within both organizations. The BJP and the JMM should engage in constructive dialogue with their discontented leaders, reminding them of the organization’s core principles and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Young leaders need to recognize that sacrifice and dedication are essential in politics, and loyalty to the organization will ultimately strengthen their political journey. By adhering to the values of sacrifice and loyalty, these young leaders will not only reinforce the organization but also brighten their prospects for the future.
