t this crucial juncture of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, both the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are facing a wave of discontent among their young leaders, whose dissatisfaction could adversely impact their electoral prospects.
However, this situation is also a lesson for these young leaders: instead of opting for rebellion, if they align themselves with the party’s principles, they will find countless opportunities and a promising future.
As BJP’s veteran leader Bhupen Sahu, a true symbol of sacrifice, states, “The party is like a mother; we must have reverence for it, not a spirit of dissent.”
Senior BJP leader Raj Paliwar, dissatisfied with not receiving a ticket, has decided to contest as an independent candidate from Madhupur, posing a significant challenge to the BJP’s Ganga Narayan Singh. Similarly, Niranjan Rai is preparing to run as an independent from Rajdhanwar, which could threaten the position of state president Babulal Marandi. In Gumla, Sudarshan Bhagat faces potential risk due to the discontent of Misir Kujur, while in Kanke, Dr Jeetu Charan Ram may see weakened support due to Kamlesh Ram’s opposition. Furthermore, in the Ranchi Assembly, dissent from leaders like Munchoon Rai and Sandeep Verma could create difficulties for the BJP candidate CP Singh.
JMM’s Youth Shake-Up
In the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, discontent has arisen due to the denial of a ticket to Dinesh William Marandi, son of Simon Marandi. Dinesh has chosen to contest as an independent candidate, potentially challenging the JMM’s organizational stability.
