Ranchi, Nov 5: Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar stated that the guidelines of the Election Commission of India are being followed in the state to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates in the 2024 assembly elections.

He said that a complaint has been received from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) regarding the blocking of their star campaigner Hemant Soren’s helicopter. A letter has been written to the Director of Birsa Munda Airport Authority to inform him of the situation by the morning of November 6.

He mentioned that to prevent such situations from arising and to avoid any communication gaps, a meeting with the Airport Authority was held on October 23 in the Election House with political parties.

During this meeting, all political parties were informed about the guidelines related to VIP movements by the Airport Authority, and contact numbers were shared for clarification in case of any doubts. This is to ensure that equal opportunities are available for everyone in the assembly elections.
