Ranchi, Nov 13: Voting for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections began at 7 am on 43 constituencies and will continue until 5 pm. There is a visible enthusiasm among the people of Jharkhand for this grand festival of democracy. Voters are lining up early to cast their votes.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also exercised his right to vote at the polling station at the Shri Krishna Public Administration Institute in Ranchi.

He urged all voters to cast their votes and shared photos on X, writing, “I voted today at the polling booth of Sri Krishna Lok Prashasan Sansthan in Ranchi in the Assembly Elections-2024. I urge all voters to exercise their right to vote by ensuring their participation in this great festival of democracy.”

CM Hemant, wife Kalpana cast votes

At 11:35 am, Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren, along with his wife Kalpana Soren, arrived at the Sant Francis School in Harmu, Hatia Assembly Constituency, to cast their votes. They voted at Booth No. 290 of Sant Francis School. Several party members also accompanied Hemant Soren. Prior to this, Hemant Soren had appealed to people on social media platform X to come out and vote.

BJP, JMM candidates from Ranchi seat cast votes

BJP candidate from Ranchi Assembly seat, C.P. Singh, cast his vote. On the occasion, he stated, “I have exercised my right to vote. This is not only a right but also a duty. Everyone should exercise their right to vote.”

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate from Ranchi, Mahua Majhi, also cast her vote early in the morning. She also appealed to the voters of the Ranchi Assembly constituency to vote in her favour.

Sanjay Seth casts vote

Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, also exercised his right to vote. He stated that the people of Jharkhand are fed up with corruption over the past five years and that the BJP will win with a two-thirds majority. He questioned whether Jharkhand is a dharamshala or a refugee center, accusing the state of bringing in illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. He further mentioned that the BJP has committed to removing these Bangladeshi infiltrators from the country, starting from November 24.

BJP, Congress candidates from Hatia seat cast votes

Congress candidate from Hatia Assembly, Ajay Nath Shahdeo, cast his vote along with his wife. He appealed to everyone to participate in the grand festival of democracy and exercise their right to vote.

BJP candidate from Hatia seat, Naveen Jaiswal, exercised his right to vote with his family. His wife and son were also with him.
