New Delhi, Nov 20: AAP leader and Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai declared on Wednesday that, as a step to combat pollution, government offices in Delhi will adopt a work-from-home arrangement for 50% of their employees.

“To reduce pollution, Delhi government decided to work from home in government offices. 50% employees will work from home. For its implementation, a meeting will be held with the officials at 1 pm today in the Secretariat,” Gopal Rai posted on X.

On Wednesday morning, the air quality in the national capital worsened, falling into the ‘severe’ category as a thin layer of smog enveloped parts of the city, lowering visibility and causing the air quality index (AQI) to reach hazardous levels.

The air quality index had been hovering in the ‘severe plus’ category for the last two days.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that as of 9 AM today, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital was 424, falling into the ‘severe’ category.
