New Delhi, Nov 27: Kailash Gahlot, who switched allegiance from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), resigned from the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
Gahlot handed over his resignation to the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, Ram Niwas Goel.
“As you may be aware, I resigned as a Minister in the Delhi government (GNCTD) on November 17. On the same day, I also resigned from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party. The main reason was the fact that AAP had begun to deviate from its moral and ethical values, thereby making it difficult for me to continue. I hereby tender my resignation from the Legislative Assembly of Delhi,” Gahlit said in his resignation letter.

Kailash Gahlot stepped down as Delhi’s Transport Minister and quit the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on November 17, joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the next day.
Earlier onn November 23, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva, with the approval of the party’s senior leadership, appointed Kailash Gahlot as a member of the Delhi Assembly Election Coordination Committee.
