Mumbai, Dec 4: Devendra Fadnavis will take the oath as Maharashtra’s 21st Chief Minister on December 5, after his nomination was confirmed during a pivotal BJP core committee meeting held on Wednesday, sources told news agency PTI.

As reported by PTI, the meeting occurred ahead of the Maharashtra legislature party session, during which senior BJP leaders deliberated and finalized the decision.

In the presence of central observers Vijay Rupani and Nirmala Sitharaman, Chandrakant Patil proposed Devendra Fadnavis’s name, which was seconded by Sudhir Mungantiwar. All MLAs unanimously agreed to the proposal, and no other names were suggested for the post of the leader of the legislative party. As a result, Devendra Fadnavis was elected unopposed as the leader of the legislative party.
