During a surprise inspection of Sadar Hospital on Friday evening, accompanied by senior officials, Madhwi Mishra noted that several specialist doctors are working in private hospitals across the district. She mentioned that a draft is being prepared to engage these specialists at Sadar Hospital. “In this regard, a meeting with private nursing home operators will be called soon,” said the DC.
Sadar Hospital was revived in 2019
Sadar Hospital, which was revived in 2019 following a directive from the Jharkhand High Court, owes its revival to the efforts of Sadar MLA Raj Sinha. The High Court took cognisance of the matter and ordered the hospital’s restoration. Initially, the hospital started operating with a few doctors hired on contract under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT).
Although, in November 2023, the state government deployed over a dozen Senior Residents (postgraduate doctors) to Sadar Hospital to meet its staffing needs, their deputation was cancelled in July 2024 by the National Medical Commission (NMC), and they were sent back to medical colleges.
