New Delhi, Jan 29: For the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the Congress on Wednesday unveiled its manifesto, outlining key promises, including a ₹2,500 monthly grant for women, free electricity up to 300 units, and LPG cylinders at ₹500.

Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, alongside party communications in-charge Jairam Ramesh, released the manifesto today, detailing 22 focus areas.

Among the major guarantees, the party pledged to provide ₹8,500 per month for a year to educated unemployed youth, abolish contract jobs, and regularize employment.

Additionally, Congress vowed to introduce a 33% reservation for women in government jobs and implement schemes for the LGBTQ+ community.

Congress also committed to conducting a caste census if elected.

Additionally, widows’ daughters would receive ₹1.1 lakh for marriage, and a separate ministry for Purvanchalis would be established.

The manifesto further promised a significant boost in welfare measures, including increasing pensions from ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 and offering free health insurance coverage up to ₹25 lakh.

The party assured free ration kits and announced plans to set up 100 Indira Canteens across Delhi, where meals would be available for ₹5.

The manifesto also focused on senior citizens, promising health insurance and enhanced welfare programs.
