Party leader Mallikarjun Kharge contacted alliance partners, including the Indian National Congress (INC), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and Trinamool Congress, to apprise them of the scheduled meeting.

The gathering is set to occur shortly after the announcement of the election outcomes in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram. Consequently, the significance of the upcoming INDIA meeting is underscored by the pivotal role played by the December 3 results as a crucial precursor to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls the following year.

Last meeting hosted by Uddhav Thackeray

The most recent opposition gathering was hosted by Uddhav Thackeray, the President of Shiv Sena (UBT). The event witnessed the participation of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and the chief ministers from five states.

A three-point resolution to fight the 2024 Indian general elections together ‘as far as possible’ was passed by the alliance over the two days of deliberations, during which time it also examined important electoral concerns for the next general elections and established the coordination committee.
