Ranchi, Feb 13: Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi, who was martyred in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, was given a final farewell in Hazaribagh. His last journey began from his ancestral home and proceeded to Muktidham, drawing a massive crowd. People lined the streets, showering flowers on his mortal remains and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. As a mark of respect, businesses across the city remained closed during the procession. Citizens from all walks of life paid tribute to the brave martyr, saluting him along the way.
Father Performs the Final Rites
Following the designated route, Captain Karamjit’s funeral procession reached Muktidham, where army personnel and local police officers honoured him with a ceremonial salute. His father then performed the last rites, bidding farewell to his son with immense pride and grief. Several dignitaries, including Hazaribagh Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay, SP Arvind Kumar Singh, and Sadar MLA Pradeep Prasad, attended the funeral to pay their respects.

Wedding Was Scheduled for April 5
Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi was set to marry on April 5. His sacrifice has left his family heartbroken yet immensely proud. His patriotism and valour will forever inspire generations to come. His martyrdom is a great loss, not only to his family but to the entire nation.
Yesterday, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar visited Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi and paid tribute to the martyr Captain Sardar Karamjit Singh Bakshi by laying a wreath on his mortal remains. He met the bereaved family and expressed condolences. He said that the sacrifice of this brave son of Mother India will not go in vain.
