Ranchi, March 7: Journalism students from Usha Martin University (UMU) visited the Science Centre in Bariyatu as part of their Science and Technology Communication course.

The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of how science communication simplifies complex concepts for the public. Organized by Dr. Shahnaaz Zabi, Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Amit Kumar, faculty member, a group of 20 students explored interactive exhibits on space, physics, biology, and environmental science.

The visit also emphasized the importance of science museums, centres, and cities in fostering scientific temper and promoting public understanding of science. The concept of scientific temper was introduced by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, who emphasized rational thinking, inquiry, and the application of science for societal progress.
