New Delhi, May 1: Punjab Kings (PBKS) announced on Thursday that Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will miss the remainder of the IPL 2025 season after fracturing his finger. The team shared the update via Instagram, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Head coach Ricky Ponting acknowledged that finding a suitable replacement for Maxwell won’t be easy, especially with limited international options due to overlapping leagues.

He added that the team is now closely evaluating its pool of Indian talent to fill the gap left by Maxwell’s absence.

Maxwell’s campaign had been underwhelming, scoring just 48 runs in seven matches at an average of eight and taking four wickets.
The injury occurred ahead of PBKS’ rain-hit fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he scored only 7 runs.
Suryansh Shedge replaced Maxwell in the playing XI for Wednesday’s match against Chennai Super Kings, which Punjab Kings won by four wickets.
