Dhanbad, May 8: The Dhanbad Railway Division of the East Central Railway (ECR) zone has once again secured the top position in freight loading and revenue earning among the 258 railway divisions across the country for the month of April 2025.

Record Freight Loading

Dhanbad’s Railway Division recorded an impressive freight loading of 16.55 million tonnes in April 2025, the highest across Indian Railways. The Bilaspur Railway Division of the South East Central Railway (SECR) zone followed with 15.44 million tonnes, securing second place.

The Khurda Railway Division of the East Coast Railway (ECR) zone and Chakradharpur Railway Division of the South Eastern Railway (SER) zone rounded out the top four with 13.20 million tonnes and 12.30 million tonnes, respectively.

Top in Revenue Earnings

Dhanbad also maintained its leadership in revenue generation, with a total of ₹2,134.96 crores in earnings for the month of April 2025. In comparison, the Bilaspur Railway Division earned ₹1,992.37 crores, while Khurda earned ₹1,133.86 crores and Chakradharpur earned ₹1,032.58 crores.

Dhanbad Railway Division Manager (DRM) Kamal Kishore Sinha expressed pride in the division’s achievement, highlighting the efforts and dedication of the team in achieving this milestone.
