Patna, June 23: The Nitish Kumar led Bihar government has has issued a major reshuffle of the state police force, transferring seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and assigning them new responsibilities across the state. The transfers aim to strengthen policing efficiency and streamline administrative functions.
Jitendra Rana Appointed IG of Central Region
2005 batch IPS officer Jitendra Rana, who was previously awaiting posting, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IG) for the Central Region. His new role includes overseeing law enforcement activities in the critical central zones of Bihar, including Patna.

Rakesh Rathi Takes Charge as IG of Special Branch
2002 batch IPS officer Rakesh Rathi has been assigned as IG of the Special Branch, a vital intelligence wing responsible for security and surveillance operations within the state.

Garima Malik Moves to IG Vigilance; Premalatha Shifts to Technical Services
2006 batch IPS officer Garima Malik, who was IG of the Central Region, has been posted as IG of Vigilance, tasked with anti-corruption and oversight responsibilities. S. Premalatha, the former IG of Vigilance, has been transferred to the role of IG of Technical Services, managing police technology and infrastructure.
Manoj Kumar Tiwari Becomes SP of Siwan
2012 batch IPS officer Manoj Kumar Tiwari, previously the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Crime Investigation Department (CID), has been posted as SP of Siwan. His predecessor, Amitesh Kumar, has moved to head the Special Branch as Superintendent of Police.

K. Ramdas Takes Charge of CID
2019 batch IPS officer K. Ramdas, Assistant Director at Bihar Police Academy, has been appointed as SP of the Crime Investigation Department, bringing fresh leadership to this critical investigative arm.
