Jamshedpur, July 9: To ease the rush of devotees and enhance connectivity between Ranchi and Bhagalpur, South Eastern Railway today announced the operation of a Shravani Mela special train service for a limited period.
The Ranchi–Bhagalpur Special will run thrice a week—every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday—starting July 12, 2025, until August 11.
The train will depart from Ranchi at 11:00 PM and reach Bhagalpur at 1:00 PM the following day.

In the return direction, train number 08609 Bhagalpur–Ranchi Special will leave Bhagalpur on every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday from July 13 to August 12, departing at 1:45 PM and arriving in Ranchi at 3:50 AM the next day.
The special train will halt at the following major stations en route: Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, Chittaranjan, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj.
Passengers are advised to book their tickets in advance and follow all travel guidelines issued by the railway authorities.
