Dhanbad, July 22: Rupesh Katriar has been elected as the new president of the East Singhbhum Badminton Association (ESBA) for the 2025–27 term. His appointment was confirmed during the executive body and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ESBA, held in Jamshedpur on Monday evening.

Ranjay Singh Bisen was re-elected as the secretary of the association. Both newly elected leaders expressed their commitment to the continued growth of the association and the development of badminton in the district.

The newly formed executive body pledged to enhance badminton at all levels in East Singhbhum by implementing structured training programs, improving infrastructure, and encouraging increased participation of young athletes in national and international tournaments.

In a joint statement, the officials said, “The East Singhbhum Badminton Association looks forward to a promising future under its new leadership, striving to make East Singhbhum a formidable force in the sport.”

K Prabhakar Rao, Secretary of the Jharkhand Badminton Association, also expressed optimism. He said he hopes that under the leadership of Rupesh Katriar and Ranjay Singh Bisen, East Singhbhum will reach new heights in badminton achievements.
