Jamshedpur, July 26: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar today attended the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) in Jamshedpur and congratulated the institution on completing a glorious 75-year journey.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that SCCI is not just an organisation but the soul of Jharkhand’s industrial history, which has guided the state for decades and transformed its economic landscape.

He paid tribute to the vision, hard work and commitment of the founding members of the Chamber.

Praising Jamshedpur as a model of social and industrial development, he said that the Tata Group’s farsightedness has made the city a leader not only in industry but also in education, healthcare, environment, and skill development.

He also congratulated the citizens for the city’s achievement of securing the third rank in the national cleanliness rankings.

Highlighting India’s economic growth, the Governor noted that the country has now become the world’s fourth-largest economy and, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is moving towards becoming a $5 trillion economy.

Referring to initiatives like Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and Vocal for Local, he urged chambers of commerce in Jharkhand to play a leading role in these missions.

“Jharkhand is rich in natural resources, manpower and youth power. If industry, policy and skills are aligned, the state can become the backbone of the national economy,” he said.

Calling for inclusive growth, the Governor appealed to the Chamber to also focus on social development, women’s empowerment, education and creating job opportunities for local youth.

He emphasized that Jharkhand still lags behind in higher education and that active participation of industry is essential for progress in this field.

On this occasion, senior members of the trade body including the president Vijay Anand Moonka also shared their thoughts with the Governor.
