Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday suspended former Odisha Minister and four-time legislator Prafulla Kumar Mallik for alleged anti-party activities.
The decision, announced through an official order, stated that Mallik, ex-MLA from Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district, was being removed from the party with immediate effect.

Mallik’s suspension comes at a time when the BJD is facing internal unrest. Just days earlier, senior leaders N Bhaskar Rao and Lal Bihari Himirika had quit the party.

In the wake of their departure, Mallik had also indicated that he planned to sever ties with the BJD.
