Amritsar, Sept 15: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited Amritsar today. He offered prayers at Gurdwara Shri Samadh Baba Budha Ji Sahib in Ramdas and later met people in flood-affected areas of Amritsar district.

Earlier, he interacted with flood victims at Gurdwara Baba Budha Sahib in Ramdas, Ajnala. He also met farmers in Gurchakk village of Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur and visited flood-affected families at Makoda Pattan in Dinanagar.

Meanwhile, the Punjab BJP questioned Rahul Gandhi’s visit, asking what measures he had taken so far to support flood victims, especially when Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and other alliance partners are in power in eight states across the country.

The party pointed out that several Union ministers had already toured Punjab’s flood-hit areas before Rahul Gandhi’s arrival. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have also reviewed the situation. According to sources, several Union and state ministers from the BJP will continue visiting flood-affected regions of Punjab until September 21.
