Bishunpur (Gumla), Sept 24: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Gumla, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), inaugurated the Shree Anna Production Technology and Processing Unit at the Tirtha campus in Bishunpur. A seminar on the topic was held at the Ambedkar Auditorium.
Millet-based products and training
The unit will process coarse grains (Shree Anna) into products like biscuits, namkeen, laddus, and flour. It will also provide training for women, creating opportunities for self-employment and rural entrepreneurship.

Key participants included Anjani Kumar Singh (Director, ICAR-ATARI Patna, Zone 4), Vikas Bharti Secretary Padma Shri Ashok Bhagat, Mahendra Bhagat (Joint Secretary, Vikas Bharti Bishunpur), Bhikhari Bhagat, Sanjay Kumar (Former Senior Scientist and Head), Brijesh Pandey (Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Gumla), Nisha Tiwari, and Praval Maitra, along with scientists and farmers from the region.
About the organisers
Vikas Bharti Bishunpur is a voluntary organisation in Jharkhand working in rural development, education, health, women’s empowerment, and sustainable agriculture. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gumla, under ICAR, provides training, demonstrations, and technical support to farmers, focusing on productivity and income improvement.
