Kolkata/Dhanbad, Sept 25: BCCL has assured DVC of priority supply of quality coal to its power plants as stock levels fall sharply during the festive season. The assurance was given in a meeting held today at DVC headquarters, Kolkata.
BCCL CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal, along with the PSU’s marketing team, expressed his best wishes to DVC Chairman S Suresh Kumar for the continued growth and outstanding performance of DVC under his able leadership.
Focus on Coal Shortage
Discussions centered on increasing supplies from BCCL to DVC plants, which are facing fast-depleting coal reserves. The situation is critical with Durga Puja pushing up power demand.

Notably, DVC plants at Mejia, Koderma, Chandrapura, and other locations have previously reported coal stocks falling below critical levels, sparking fears of load-shedding across Jharkhand, West Bengal, and neighbouring states.
The BCCL’s CMD assured that DVC’s coal requirements will be met on priority while underlining the strong working relationship between the two organisations.
