Ranchi, October 2: Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, along with MLA Kalpana Soren, paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at Bapu Vatika, Morhabadi. The leaders garlanded the statue of the Father of the Nation, honouring his enduring legacy of truth and non-violence.
On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Chief Minister Soren extended his greetings to the people of Jharkhand. Speaking on the occasion, he said Gandhi’s philosophy continues to inspire the nation and the world.
“Today is a golden day in India’s history. Gandhi’s life is a source of inspiration for all of us. His principles not only guided the freedom struggle but also strengthened democracy after independence. It is because of the ideals and sacrifices of such great personalities that India stands strong and proud before the world,” the Chief Minister remarked.

Appealing to the citizens of the state, Soren urged everyone to sincerely adopt Gandhi’s principles in their lives and to work towards strengthening peace, brotherhood, and unity in society.
The Chief Minister also remembered former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. He said Shastri’s life was a symbol of simplicity, honesty, and hard work, and that his historic call of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” remains an inspiration for the nation. “His values of duty, patriotism, and public service are guiding lights for building a stronger Jharkhand and India,” Soren added.
