Jamshedpur, Oct 9: In preparation for the 2025 Ghatshila Assembly by-election, the District Election Officer of East Singhbhum, Karn Satyarthi, along with Senior Superintendent of Police, Piyush Pandey, conducted an inspection of the Jamshedpur Co-operative College, the strong room, to oversee the dispatch and receiving arrangements for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The Jamshedpur Co-operative College will serve as the central hub for the 45 polling parties in the Ghatsila constituency, both for the dispatch of polling teams and the receiving of EVMs after voting concludes.
During the inspection, senior officials provided on-site guidance to ensure smooth operations and directed the building construction department engineers to complete the strongroom construction within the college premises.

Barricading arrangements were also reviewed and necessary instructions issued.
Officials emphasized the importance of seamless co-ordination in the distribution of election materials among polling parties, proper maintenance of EVMs and VVPATs, parking arrangements for polling and official vehicles, and availability of basic facilities such as drinking water, toilets, and electricity.
They also ensured that medical facilities, help desks, and seating arrangements for reserve staff, micro-observers, and medical teams were in place.
The inspection was attended by City SP Kumar Shivashish, DTO Dhananjay, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Uraon, engineers from the building construction department, DSPs, local police station in-charges, and other senior officials.

The District Election Officer and senior police officials stressed close co-ordination among all teams to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of election-related activities.
