Ranchi, Oct 14: Delhi Public School, Ranchi, played host to the Regional Level CBSE Skill Expo and Guidance Festival 2025, organised under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The mega educational event brought together over 650 students from more than 50 schools across the Ranchi and Patna regions.
The programme was graced by Ram Veer, Regional Officer, CBSE Ranchi Region, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Jitendra Kumar Singh (IAS), Secretary, Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development, Government of Jharkhand, elevated the event as the Guest of Honour.
Also joining the occasion as resource persons were professionals from diverse and dynamic domains, who brought with them a wealth of experience and insight to guide and inspire the students. Sandeep Singh, Chief Head at Square Yards, Gurugram (Haryana). Ravi Singh Choudhary, a renowned Author and Entrepreneur based in Ranchi and Abhishek Kumar Singh, Associate Vice President at Lifology Foundation, Dubai.

The programme commenced on a cultural note with a Welcome Song presented by the students of DPS Ranchi. This was followed by the felicitation ceremony, where the Principal, Dr. Jaya Chauhan, presented saplings and mementoes to the dignitaries and resource persons.

In her welcome address, Dr. Jaya Chauhan expressed immense pride in hosting this significant educational festival. She welcomed the distinguished guests, educators, teacher mentors, resource persons, and most importantly, the vibrant student participants from across the region.
She highlighted the relevance of the Skill Expo and Guidance Festival in today’s rapidly evolving educational and professional landscape. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, creators, and changemakers. Platforms like this empower them to think beyond textbooks, connect learning to life, and explore future-ready careers with confidence. The Skill Expo nurtures innovation, while the Guidance Festival opens doors to clarity and purpose,” said Dr. Chauhan. Following the Principal’s welcome address was a dance presentation by the students..
In his address, Ram Veer, Regional Officer, acknowledged the efforts of DPS Ranchi and CBSE in orchestrating such an event. He emphasized the importance of skill development in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and highlighted CBSE’s commitment to integrating skill education from foundational levels.
He said, “The 21st century does not belong to those who merely know, but to those who can apply, innovate and lead. Skill education is no longer optional. It is an essential life skill. Events like this encourage not just academic excellence, but holistic development, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving abilities”. He also lauded the schools and students for their participation and encouraged them to continue this journey of exploration and excellence.

Delivering a keynote address rooted in pragmatism and vision, Jitendra Kumar Singh (IAS) emphasized the role of skill development in economic empowerment and nation-building. He said, “India is at the cusp of a demographic dividend. But this will only yield fruit when our youth are equipped with the right skills, awareness, and mindset. Today’s Guidance Festival is a bridge between dreams and reality, education and employment. I urge students to explore emerging sectors, upskill continuously, and think of themselves as global citizens with local responsibility.”
The main highlight of the event was the Skill Expo, where 250 students from 40 schools across the Ranchi and Patna regions showcased their innovative models and projects under a diverse set of themes aligned with CBSE’s Skill Education framework.
The themes included Technology and Innovation (AI, Coding, Animation, VFX, Gaming, and Comics), Environment and Sustainability, Health and Wellness, Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy, Tourism and Hospitality, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Media Design and Communication.
The exhibition was a display of creativity, technical skill, and forward-thinking, featuring projects such as AI-based Waste Segregation Systems, Augmented Tourism Experiences, Digital Health Monitors, Eco-friendly Packaging Solutions, and more.
The event drew appreciation from visitors, including academicians, mentors, and industry professionals, who were thoroughly impressed by the students’ originality and problem-solving approach.

The entire exhibition was evaluated by an expert panel of judges, who assessed the projects on the basis of innovation, practicality, presentation, and impact, making the Expo not just an exhibition but a meaningful platform for applied learning and real-world innovation.
Running parallel to the Expo, the Guidance Festival saw participation from more than 400 students representing 70+ schools. The festival served as a rich platform for students to explore new-age career paths, understand the evolving dynamics of work, and gain practical insights through expert sessions.
A major highlight of the day was the series of insightful expert sessions conducted by the resource persons, who brought a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to the students. Ravi Singh Choudhary, Author and Entrepreneur from Ranchi, led an engaging session on “Regenerative Futures: Careers that Heal People, Planet and Purpose.”
In his talk, he emphasized the urgent need for sustainable and meaningful career choices in fields like climate action, eco-entrepreneurship, circular economy, and social innovation. Encouraging students to think beyond conventional paths, he motivated them to align their passion with purpose and become solution-driven contributors to society. “The world needs problemsolvers. Don’t just chase careers that pay, pursue those that matter,” he said, urging the importance of action.
Following this, Sandeep Singh, Chief Head at Square Yards, Gurugram, conducted an impactful session titled “The Power of Strategic Thinking: Preparing for Tomorrow.” Drawing from his vast experience in corporate leadership and start-up growth, he illustrated how strategic thinking, adaptability, and long-term vision are key skills for success in today’s volatile, fast-evolving world.
He inspired students to become proactive thinkers who embrace uncertainty and learn from both success and failure. “The winners of tomorrow are those who prepare today. Develop foresight, learn from failures, and think long-term,” he emphasized, urging students to step into the future with confidence and clarity.
The final session was delivered by Abhishek Kumar Singh, Associate Vice President at Lifology Foundation, Dubai, who addressed students on “From Classroom Dreams to Real Life Impact.” His session was both motivational and practical, guiding students to view education not as an end, but as the beginning of their real-world journey. He highlighted the importance of transforming academic knowledge into innovation, entrepreneurship, and purposeful action.

Encouraging students to dream big and take actionable steps, he said, “Your classroom is your laboratory. Every subject, project, and discussion is a stepping stone to something larger — be it starting a venture, solving a problem, or leading a cause.” His words resonated deeply, inspiring students to link learning with leadership.

These sessions were followed by an interactive Question and Answer round between the students and the resource persons. Students posed thought-provoking queries related to career confusion, skill gaps, entrepreneurship doubts, sustainable development dilemmas, and future technologies scope. The panelists responded with practical advice, personal anecdotes, and actionable guidance, making the session highly engaging and impactful.
Principal, Dr. Jaya Chauhan expressed her gratitude to CBSE, the dignitaries, the resource persons, participating schools, teachers, and students for making the event a resounding success. “Today was not just an event — it was a movement. A movement toward empowered learning, collaborative thinking, and a future where our students don’t just fit in — they lead.
