PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Oct 15: Jharkhand is set to witness a stretch of dry and mostly clear weather over the next four days, according to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi.

As per the bulletin, partly cloudy skies and dry conditions are likely to prevail over the southern and central districts of the state from October 15 to 17, while the weather is expected to turn mainly clear by October 18.

No significant rainfall activity is anticipated anywhere in the state during this period.

Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation

The IMD report added that an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand between 3.1 and 4.5 Km above mean sea level.

However, the system is weak and unlikely to trigger any notable rainfall activity in the region.

“Moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal remains limited, keeping weather conditions dry across most parts of Jharkhand,” the bulletin stated.

Realized Weather

During the past 24 hours, mainly dry weather prevailed across the state, with no major rainfall recorded at any station.

Temperatures remained near normal, with slightly warm afternoons and pleasant evenings reported from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj.

Outlook

The continued dry spell is expected to benefit harvest-related agricultural activities, particularly in the southern and plateau regions.

However, the IMD has advised farmers to manage irrigation schedules carefully due to the lack of expected rainfall.

Early morning mist or shallow fog may occur at isolated places, but overall visibility and travel conditions are likely to remain favourable throughout the week.
