Lucknow, Oct 18: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Aerospace unit in Lucknow.

Earlier, both leaders inaugurated the booster and warhead buildings at the BrahMos Aerospace facility and participated in a plantation drive within the premises. They also witnessed a virtual strike demonstration of the BrahMos missile via the SU-30 aircraft.

On the occasion, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “This is the foundation of a self-reliant India. So far, we have provided over 2,500 acres of land across six nodes for this purpose, generating employment for more than 15,000 youth in the state.”

Yogi further stated that once 100 BrahMos missiles are produced annually, with future capacity increasing to 150, the state government will receive Rs 150–200 crore per year through GST from these missiles.
