Bengaluru, Oct 30: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for the launch of its heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03, on November 2.

Weighing approximately 4,400 kg, the satellite will be lifted to a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) by India’s LVM3 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

According to ISRO, the CMS-03 mission marks the fifth operational flight of the LVM3 launch vehicle, designated as LVM3-M5.

Once in orbit, the multi-band satellite will enhance communication coverage across the Indian subcontinent and surrounding oceanic regions, bolstering connectivity and network resilience.

ISRO noted that the CMS-03 satellite will become the fifth operational satellite in its communication series, expanding the nation’s capacity for high-quality telecommunication and data transmission services over a vast geographical area.
