Ranchi, Nov 15: Chief Minister Hemant Soren became emotional during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Jharkhand State Foundation Day at Ranchi’s Morhabadi Ground, as he remembered the late Shibu Soren. He said that although there was excitement in the air, there was also a deep silence in his heart because Dishom Guru was not present on the stage this year.

“Today, Shibu Soren is not with us as a guiding shadow for the tribals and the indigenous people. It will take time to recover from this,” he said. Expressing pride in Jharkhand’s identity, he added, “We are not just Adivasis. We are Moolvasis and the first heirs of this country. We are ready to walk forward hand in hand.”

‘We Must Never Forget the Struggle That Created This State’

The Chief Minister said that the creation of Jharkhand came after decades—not years—of sacrifice by thousands of people. “Those who lived on this land long before 2000 gave us a distinct identity. Because of their struggle, the tribals and indigenous people of Jharkhand stand tall today,” he said.

Hemant Soren added that the responsibility of taking the state forward now lies with the younger generations. “Both the government and ordinary citizens must work together to beautify the state and strengthen its overall development.”

‘We Are Preparing for the Jharkhand of 2050’

Outlining his long-term vision, the Chief Minister said the government is preparing for what Jharkhand should look like in 2050. He emphasised the state’s contribution to India’s growth, including minerals that powered factories and boosted national and international trade.

“Jharkhand has given the country recognition. Our people have contributed to the nation’s development. We now expect the country to give Jharkhand the respect and rights it deserves,” he said.

Village Development Is Key to a Developed India

The Chief Minister said India can become a developed nation only when its states grow, and states will grow only when villages progress. “Jharkhand’s land is full of prosperity. With proper development, we can create a strong identity for ourselves,” he said.

He added that the state is being shaped according to people’s economic, social, mental, and intellectual needs. “New dimensions are being added to education, health, and technology. Our children are excelling not only in studies but also in sports,” he said.

‘The Dreams of the Heroes Must Be Fulfilled’

Hemant Soren said the statues installed across Jharkhand are not just symbols but sources of inspiration and strength. “We are preparing the path of development while maintaining natural balance,” he said.

He added that the government is empowering women by allocating half the budget in their favour. “It may seem small, but its impact is huge. Other states are following this model.”

1,087 Projects Launched on Foundation Day

During the celebrations, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 1,087 projects worth ₹8,799 crore.
This included:

209 new projects worth ₹4,475 crore

878 completed projects worth ₹4,324 crore

The Governor and the Chief Minister also released souvenirs to mark Jharkhand’s 25th Foundation Day.
